A water flow meter is a device that measures the volume or mass of water passing through a pipe. These instruments are crucial in numerous industries such as water management and irrigation. By providing accurate measurements, they help optimise water resource management. Delivering real-time data, flow meters support informed decision-making for water conservation and infrastructure planning. Whether used in residential, industrial, or agricultural settings, they ensure efficient water distribution and improve operational effectiveness.
This flow meter includes a removable reducing connector compatible with ¾” or 1” BSP fittings. The standardised threading guarantees a secure connection, preventing leaks and maintaining optimal water flow. It also features a universal push-fit hose connector adaptor for easy attachment to hose pipes.
The device operates using a CR2032 Lithium 3V coin cell battery, which is supplied.
To access the battery, firmly hold the meter and gently pull at the edge of the clear front cap. Underneath, you will find a white battery cover which can be removed to reveal the battery compartment.
Use the button to cycle through different display modes: sum 1, sum 2, auto, litres per minute (l/min), or gallons per minute (g/min).
Selecting the unit per minute mode displays the current flow rate. The auto mode shows the total water usage during the current session. Sum 1 and Sum 2 continuously track the total volume of water used since their last reset. To reset Sum 1 or Sum 2 to zero, select the desired mode and hold down the button.
To toggle between litres and gallons, press the button until l/min or g/min appears, then hold the button for three seconds to switch the unit. This selection will show the current flow rate per minute.
Since Sum 1 and Sum 2 are manually reset, they can be used to track water usage over set periods—for instance, Sum 1 for daily use and Sum 2 for monthly consumption. Remember to reset the figures by holding down the button when needed.
